MEET THE Prosody London PERFUMER — KERSHEN TEO

Kershen Teo is the founder and perfumer behind Prosody London, an organic and botanical fragrance house based in London. Born in Singapore, Kershen’s lifelong love of fragrance took an unexpected turn when he discovered he was severely allergic to synthetic ingredients — leaving him unable to wear the conventional perfumes he so deeply admired. Rather than abandon his passion, he embarked on a personal journey to create something better: a collection of 100% natural perfumes that he could wear himself, and share with the world.

Every Prosody London fragrance is composed entirely from botanical ingredients, sourced to IFRA and Soil Association standards. What began as a necessity born of personal sensitivity has grown into a pioneering fragrance house — one that proves natural perfumery need not compromise on depth, sophistication, or longevity.Our Principles

Organic at Prosody london

Prosody London incorporates over 90% organic ingredients into all our products. We derive the ethanol in our perfumes from organic grain, certified by relevant authorities, just like all our organic ingredients. We believe plant matter grown without pesticides and chemicals is best for our health. Our skin, a less understood organ, absorbs what we apply to it. By minimizing toxins applied to our bodies, we enhance our well-being and contribute positively to wildlife and the environment

Saving water

At Prosody London, we design our production methods to conserve water resources. We minimize water usage throughout our processes, opting instead to blend oils with alcohol for dilution. By eliminating water from our products, we mitigate the risk of bacterial growth, as water (aqua) is prone to breeding bacteria. This approach also negates the need for synthetic preservatives, as alcohol naturally acts as a preservative.

Furthermore, we take pride in formulating perfumes that exhibit exceptional longevity without relying on synthetic musks. Unlike synthetic musks that harm clean water, we craft fragrances with sustainability in mind. By using natural ingredients and avoiding harmful synthetics, we help preserve clean water and support ecosystem health.

We develop our exquisite fragrances in the heart of London, a city known for its rich history and vibrant creativity. We create our perfumes in the tranquil English countryside, on the edge of the North Wessex Downs. Our facilities sit amidst lush landscapes and rolling hills. This serene setting allows us to craft each scent with care and precision.
